Short Story Competition
Congratulations to the following winners of the detective themed short story competition.
Junior:
Nivaan (8S): The Last Piece of the Puzzle. This was a well crafted story with some wonderful phrasing and a great psychological twist.
Senior:
Antony (11R): A Tragedy at Barthmore. This ambitious story managed to include the conventional tropes of the genre, but with an interesting first person narrative voice.
We had more than 50 entries, with five judges sifting through a range of thoughtful and engaging stories.Mention should go to the runners up: Saayan (8M), Avneesh (8S), Kanav (7R) and Gideon (8E).
Speed Reading Book Review Competition
The following Year 7 students were all winners of the "Speed Reading Book Review Competition": Leo, Jean-Luc, David, Aheesh, Felix, Kanav and Whillan. The winners in Year 8 were: sebastian, Robert K, Jaiden, Jai, Dexter, Jackson and Robert Y.
These students wrote some excellent book reviews so well done and congratulations to you all!
Each student received a Head Of House commendation.
Headteacher's Commendation
Congratulations to Seb in Year 9 who has received a Headteacher's commendation for leading whole school assemblies on World Book Day, he also presented during our Ofsted inspection.
