Premed Anatomy Workshop

Last Friday, our schoolroom was transformed into a fully equipped dissection theatre as 60 enthusiastic Year 12 and Year 13 biologists took part in the Premed Anatomy Workshop.

During the session, students explored key anatomical concepts, learning about the anatomical position, directional terms, and various structures of the human body. They performed a detailed dissection of a pig’s head, carefully removing the brain and eye to study the intricate layers of the brain and skull. The workshop continued with dissections of the respiratory system, the heart, and a demonstration of the digestive system.

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many saying it provided a fascinating insight into human anatomy and a real taste of what lies ahead in their future medical studies.

This invaluable experience was fully funded by the school, and we extend our sincere thanks to Mr Wood for making it possible and to Mrs Prendergast and the premises team for their support in organising it.
