M3 Challenge
A huge well done to Siobhan A, Rishi B, Kaushal C, Mo M. and Elliot R. for their hard work on the M3 Challenge.
The problem they were asked to consider was: A Tale of Two Crises: The Housing Shortage and Homelessness. They had to analyse housing data to make a model that predicted changes in housing supply and as a consequence homelessness populations including confidence levels for their model and potential improvements. The team spent days preparing, learning the software and doing mini challenges all leading up to a 14 hour day working on the problem together and writing up their findings before submitting. There needs to be a special shout out to Elliot’s parents who supported the team in the leadup and during the day. Without them the challenge wouldn’t have been possible! 643 teams across the world competed and their team came in the top 22 - landing them a $1000 prize to go towards their uni costs. The judges comments were glowing and they’re keen on taking part again next year. A huge well done to all and we look forward to what you get up to next year!
