Futures Fair
On the 9th of October, Judd students from Years 8,10,11,12 and 13 took part in our Futures Fair, in which companies, universities and organisations were able to offer their specialist knowledge and advice. Universities included: the University of Durham, King’s College London, LSE, UCL, Exeter, Bath, Warwick and Newcastle. Companies included: The British Army, BDO, Warners, Thackray Williams, Brebners, Biggin Hill Airport and stalls which featured Judd alumni such as Cripps, BAE systems and First Actuarial. Year 8 and 10 students were given a worksheet to fill out, in order to plan who they wanted to visit and what questions they wanted to ask the representatives.
Many representatives commented on the excellent behaviour and enthusiasm of the students, especially Year 8. Students stated that they were surprised to learn about A-level requirements for different university courses and that they particularly enjoyed the diversity and array of stalls present. They were shown many options for post-Judd such as degrees, apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships and other technical and vocational courses.
We would like to thank all of the representatives from all organisations for coming to our school and educating our students. The reception from students was overwhelmingly positive and we believe that they really appreciate their newfound knowledge. Finally, we would like to thank our students for handling themselves with maturity and respect.
