Athletics - ESAA Cup Final 2024
The Intermediate and Junior squads both performed well to achieve expectations at the National Cup Final at Stoke on Saturday. Qualifying as the 5th and 7th best teams respectively, they placed those same positions at the end of a high-pressured day against the very best of the country's schools, led by local rivals Dartford Grammar, who have raised the bar to unprecedented levels in recent years. Our Inters especially impressed, with consistently high-quality performances in difficult blustery conditions; their 550 point score amongst the best in Judd history. The individual highlight was Will Law's 56.12m winning Javelin throw, a new Cup Final record. This event concludes the School Athletics season, with the best individuals going for individual glory at the English Schools' Championships this coming weekend, and a few late-season championships for U13s and multi-eventers to follow in September, for which entries should be completed individually.
