YEAR 7-9 ORGAN SCHOLARSHIP

Due to very kind and generous donations from members of our Governing Body, we are pleased to be able to provide an Organ Scholarship programme here at Judd.

The 3-year scholarship, which offers free weekly organ lessons worth £195 a term, is for a student in Year 7-9 who is Grade 5+ on the piano. In return, the Scholar commits to performances in school by the start of their second year of tuition.

Applications have now closed for this year's Scholarship. We will next be auditioning for the Organ Scholarship in September 2025.  If you would like to register your child's interest in applying, please email kelwick@judd.kent.sch.uk.

The Judd School can provide tuition in the following instruments:

Violin     Viola     Cello     Double Bass     Flute    Oboe     Clarinet     Bassoon     Saxophone

Fees are £195 for ten 30-minute lessons per term (NB. This will increase to £200 from January 2025). Lessons are timetabled during the school day on a rota system, meaning that lesson times change each week so that no single subject suffers.  It is expected that pupils who miss academic lessons will catch up with all work missed and attempt all homework, etc. Half a term’s notice is required, in writing, to terminate lessons.

Some instruments are available to borrow from the school. Teachers are able to advise on purchasing an instrument, in some cases through the School.
