Barton Science Competition winning team
Congratulations to Neil, Charlie, Myles and Max on winning the inaugural Barton Science Competition at Tonbridge School!
Teams made up of two year 9 and two year 10 students faced challenges and problem-solving exercises in Chemistry, Physics and Biology in which, respectively, they analysed samples of acid, made a series of circuits and carried out experiments in flash chromatography. Other schools taking part included Hugh Christie School, Weald of Kent, Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls, The Skinners' School and Tonbridge School. After a rigorous contest, Judd emerged as winners having achieved third place in Chemistry and first place in Physics and Biology. In addition to being the first name engraved on the newly created Barton Shield, the team was awarded book prizes and the school receives £100 to be spent on science-related activities. Well done!
