John Fisher VIIs Tournament
Congratulations to our Year 7 students for winning their first ever School Rugby Tournament.
Winning the 49th Annual John Fisher VIIs in some style, whilst facing all four seasons and some of the toughest opposition! This is a considerable feat and it continued their remarkable unbeaten record this season.
The calibre of this tournament is as such, that this was the school’s first appearance in the final since 2016; first win since 2010 and only our 3rd ever time of winning this competition since we first entered in 1974. Previously winning it also 2004 & 2006. The pupils played some truly excellent Rugby.
All 13 players representing the school were fantastic, but special mentions should go to Jack Hodder and Byrn Thomas who led their team superbly, throughout the day, scoring and setting up some memorable tries in the process.
It will be interesting to see them try to extend their unbeaten run against County Opposition when we host The Judd U12 VIIs on Friday 1st March.
This will be our last of 6 Rugby competitions held at the school over the past two weeks. We remain the only school to host this many competitions as we look to support KSRFU and keep up the provision for our cohort in the absence of other opportunities.
Well done Year 7. You’ve made a brilliant start and we are very proud of you. Keep it up.
