A Super Sports Day

A glorious day greeted the School for Sports Day last Wednesday. This was most welcome after last year's multiple postponements!

It was a truly colourful affair, with the six House colours prominent against the brilliant blue sky and lush green grass. The boys competed with gusto across a varied programme of events, headlined of course by the full Track & Field programme. Congratulations to the record-breakers: Toby G 1.72m Y9 High Jump, Will B 4-23 Y10 1500m (= record), Harry N 49.62 Y12 Javelin, Senior 4 x 300 2-49.3, and Y7 Bryant, subject to ratification, 3-27 4 x 300m relay.

We were delighted to welcome several dozen parents to enjoy the show, as well as special guest James Whiteaker (OJ) who sportingly joined in the elite Javelin competition on the lower field, giving us an inspiring reminder of his outrageous 73m record set 10 years ago.

Many thanks to all those who helped make the day a success.
