Summer School - 2021
During August 2021, we were delighted to be able to support the Department for Education’s summer school programme to aid the transition of Year 6 students to secondary school. The programme took place from 23rd - 27th August and 162 students were able to take up the offer.
The week was focused on developing wellbeing and helping students make up for some of the lost learning they had experienced during the covid-19 lockdowns. Students undertook a varied programme of activities including Latin taster, make your own ice cream, a verbal reasoning based treasure hunt, developing a Podcast focused on ‘Judd in our Time’.
Students were also able to benefit from spending a day at Bewl Water where they were able to develop their teamwork skills by trying out Stand up Paddleboarding, orienteering and the ‘challenge course’.
We are grateful to all staff who were able to work during the week, about which we have received great feedback from students and parents alike.
